Matthew is a Chartered Accountant with a detailed understanding and appreciation of film and TV production. As well as being an experienced accountant, Matthew also holds qualifications from Metro Screen in Film/Video Production and a Master’s in Film and TV Production from AFTRS.
With a background in both big accounting firms and film, Matthew is well-versed in what goes into the production of a major project. With his assistance, overwhelming issues such as tax legislation are tended to with ease. Matthew’s presence provides peace of mind, ensuring proper tax compliance and maximum tax rebates.
Matthew can also assist with the preparation of the Provisional and Final Producer Offset, along with grant applications, tax advice, production budgeting and creative project management.
Tax Manager (Individuals)
Kristy brings to ATLA a wealth of practical experience in business and compliance, a passion for music and the creative process, plus a fixation on the puzzle that is taxation!
Kristy began her career in tax and finance as the Business Manager for boutique investment company Romulus Management where she oversaw compliance for multiple investments including property, stocks, and self-managed super funds. Next she undertook specialist tax training at H&R Block, where she worked as a consultant for three tax seasons. Kristy’s next milestone was to complete her Diploma of Accounting qualification in June 2017 after which she has taken on a number of freelance assignments including working inhouse at Jaxsta – a music technology start up.
Prior to her career in accounting and finance Kristy worked in the music industry where she was National Event Administrator for the Big Day Out (2005-2011), freelance music publicist, and program manager at the Australia Council for the Arts. She has an Arts Degree from the University of Qld (Film and Sociology), and a Graduate Diploma from Queensland University of Technology (Communications). Recently Kristy was appointed as the Treasurer for the Board of Music NSW, the peak industry body representing the music industry in NSW. Kristy has played indie rock for over 20 years in venues all over Australia and continues to do so, and she released her second EP titled Morning Papers in 2018!

As an accountant within a creative industry, Dean’s commitment to providing accuracy and detail underlies everything he does.
Having gained experience in financial and management accounting, he now applies these skills to the world of media production. Dean understands the importance of both time-management and reliability within this industry, and has a strong focus on ensuring the best outcome for producers and their projects.
Dean’s motivation lies in assisting with the creation of successful budgets and maximising tax returns for those within media. A project which is well managed financially can make all the difference to production, and his focus is on ensuring each detail is noted along the way.
Dean is a qualified Chartered Accountant, with outstanding results in both his Master’s Degree in Accounting and Bachelor of Business (eCommerce). With over six years’ accounting experience with external auditors and tax agents, he has an advanced level of understanding around the industry and many of the accounting systems used.
CPA M.Acc. GradDip Tax
Ena is our Corporate Tax Manager and has an impressive list of qualifications. They include a Master of Accounting from Macquarie University and a Diploma of Taxation from the University of Sydney. She’s also a qualified and experienced CPA.
Ena has been in the public practise industry for more than nine years and has plenty of experience in statutory reporting for various industries and business structures. She’s also proficient in tax compliance and advisory services.
During the past nine years of work time, Ena has never stopped further her professional development. Her attention has always been on the technical side of things and details.
Client Relations Manager
As Client Relations Manager, Jillian facilitates ATLA communications with clients, endeavouring to ensure their needs are always met. With over 20 years’ experience in customer service within the jewellery industry and membership associations; the Jewellers Association of Australia and the Design Institute of Australia, Jillian understands the needs of creative small business owners and has a strong personal commitment to effective service delivery and client satisfaction. Jillian has a degree in Art Theory, a Diploma of Business, and is considering pursuing further studies in business management. In her spare time, she can be found swimming a few laps, reading a good book or trying to tame her jungle of a garden.
With 10 years of experience working in office support, Lena has worked in lots of different environments, including work for both the private as well as the not for profit sectors. Starting off doing University administration (Imperial College, London) she later did extensive office support for the private sector, including admin support for Standard & Poors and PA work for the Financial Services Authority (UK). Apart office support roles she is also an experienced financial proofreader and bookkeeper. In her current role as an office manager Lena oversees the smooth running of the office.
